Roz Corral, New York vocalist, Larry Dunlap, piano, and Seward McCain, bass. Both Dunlap and McCain currently tour with Cleo Laine and John Dankworth. Seward is known for his work with legendary Vince Guaraldi, with whom he recorded and made soundtracks for numerous "Peanuts" specials for television.

Combining a natural feel for jazz with an evocative interpretation of a lyric, Rox Corral offers a fresh approach to a song. JazzReview.com says: "While the songs are familiar, her sprightly interpretations dance over our old notions of how they should be sung."  She will perform here a repertoire that includes Irving Berlin and Rogers and Hart as well as contemporary songwriters such as Bob Dorough, Dave Frishberg, and Stephen Sondheim.

Raised in Marin County, she has lived in Manhattan for the past thirty years, where she has performed at such notable jazz spots as the Jazz Standard and Birdland. She holds down an eight-year residency performing weekly at Greenwich Village's Washington Square Hotel.

Many of the songs on this coming program at The Jazz and Blues Company are from Ms. Corral's current CD, "Telling Tales" out on the Blujazz label. This well-received CD consists of such notable musicians as arranger/pianist Bruce Barth (who was musical director with Tony Bennett for the past year) and Santa Cruz's own Jeff Ballard and San Franciso's Larry Grenadier (currently 2/3s of the Brad Mehldau Trio).
